SHIPBOARD SERVICE

Gold Country Division - Sacramento Region
Welcome New Recruits PDF Print E-mail

Welcome aboard to new recruits Sam Sellarole, Carlo Lopez, Joshua Smith, Daniel Pearson, Anthony Jensen, and Jordan Hull.

Senior cadets...reach out to your new shipmates. Make an effort to get to know them and help them fit in as members of the Golden Dragons team. As always, set the example by which other Sea Cadets are measured.

New cadets...look to your assigned running mates and your petty officers to learn the basics, get your uniforms and gear squared away, and get ready for recruit training and advancement to seaman apprentice. Also, visit our resources page. Good gouge there on uniforms, fitness, required boot camp knowledge, and more.

Between drills, break in your boots. Get your uniforms (flashes and tapes) squared away. Start your fitness program. Get hot on your correspondence courses. If you start today, you have just enough time to have comfortable, broken-in boots and a good uniform for next drill, be in shape to pass a June PRT, and be on track to complete your BMR course before boot camp so you advance on time. Do these four simple things and you will be ahead of the game.

Training Opportunity - Drill Makeup and Community Service - Cadets seeking opportunities to make up missed drills, perform community service, or work off demerits can serve aboard the LCS-102 any Saturday. If you want to work aboard ship, contact CO or XO.

Typically we go there one or two weekends a month - you may be able to catch a ride with us. When we drive, we depart at 0600 sharp from the designated rally point. Unless otherwise arranged, parents will pick up volunteers at the rally point upon return to the Sacramento area.

Qualified cadets may organize working parties or volunteer independently if they meet LCS Association requirements and have proper escort. Consult CO or XO first if you plan to go on your own.
